artSEA (ärt-sē): one creative Southeast Asian
As a user-centered designer, I strive to create solutions that are both beautiful and usable. Over the course of my career—from community organizing and project management to design—I have worked for a range of organizations in agency, education, nonprofit, and technology environments.
My empathetic approach to design can be attributed to the numerous years working with audiences from various socio-economic backgrounds. Through this exposure, I am able to recognize user behavior and motivation. My passion for problem-solving and the need to understand my users drives me to be the visual voice for customers, while at the same time, help companies better understand the communities in which they serve.
My experience includes a solid understanding of UI and UX concepts and best practices, strong visual and interaction design skills, as well as working knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3. I also have the ability to quickly produce interactive prototypes with Axure, InVision, Sketch, and other prototyping tools. As an avid believer in continuing education, I spend my spare time building upon my UX design and web development skills.
I also serve on the board for the Nisei Student Relocation Commemorative Fund, a non-profit organization founded in New England that annually awards scholarships to students from underserved communities pursuing higher education.
